The filming of the biographical series on Miguel Bosé will begin in Spain at the beginning of 2022 under the production of VIS -a division of ViacomCBS International Networks- together with Shine Iberia, Elefantec Global and Legacy Rock, according to a statement released today by Viacom.
The series, which for the moment will have a six-episode season, will review Bosé’s career since the end of the 70 to the present day and has the collaboration of the singer himself, immersed at the same time in the writing of his autobiography.
It will premiere on Paramount + in the countries where this platform is present. In Spain, Viacom announced last August the launch from 2022 of a joint platform with Comcast called SkyShowtime that will include content from Sky, NBCUniversal, Universal Pictures, Peacock, Paramount +, Showtime, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.
The project for a series about Bosé’s life was unveiled last January and was originally going to be developed in collaboration with Movistar +, but finally Paramount + was the distribution partner.
“After many years of recovering memories, after others of writing, the first season of my life finally arrives,” says Bosé in statements made in the statement. “I am convinced that it will touch many, because all of you were part of and are responsible for what I was, what I am and everything I may become in the future,” he adds.
Miguel Bosé is one of the most prominent figures of Spanish pop in recent decades. He has sold more than 30 million albums, has more than 70 hits that have been number one in Europe and America and the Latin Recording Academy distinguished him in 2013 with his honorary award “Person of the Year”.
Son of bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguín and Italian actress Lucía Bosé, he also has a career as actor in which the role he played for “Tacones lejando” (1991) by Pedro Almodóvar stands out. In his childhood he was surrounded by artistic personalities such as Picasso, Visconti, Dalí or Ava Gardner, among others.
“We hope that this production invokes the same emotions as Bosé’s music and attracts our global audience at Paramount + “, said JC Acosta, president of ViacomCBS International Studios & Networks Americas.
