The Youth Service Bureau, Inc (YSB) is pleased to invite you to our inaugural Gala, Thursday, May 18th, 2017, from 5:30pm – 9:00pm at the Lake Elmo Event Center. All funds raised support our capital expansion campaign and will be matched 1:1 by a grant from the Otto Bremer Trust.
Dr. David Walsh, our keynote speaker and YSB advocate, will speak on the importance of early intervention. Dr. Walsh is the Author of “Why Do They Act That Way? A Survival Guide to the Adolescent Brain for You and Your Teen.” Other speakers include Pete Orput (Washington County Attorney) and Marina Steiner (Stillwater Graduate and Youth Speaker).
YSB’s mission is to help youth and families learn the skills they need to be more successful at home, in school and throughout the community. YSB was formed in 1976 to provide law enforcement with a way to divert youth with behavioral challenges away from the juvenile justice system. We have grown to include prevention and early intervention strategies that help youth and families through counseling, education services and community partnerships.
Our expansion efforts include adding thee licensed therapists that will serve our Cottage Grove, Stillwater and Woodbury offices, and growing our school-based services by adding three chemical health specialists in Districts 622, 833 & 834. District 622 (North St. Paul, Maplewood and Oakdale); District 833 (South Washington County); District 834 (Stillwater Area Schools.)
At this event we will honor and celebrate YSB’s 40 years of service, and work to strategically position ourselves in an increasingly diverse community, providing accessible, high-quality services for the next 40 years throughout Washington County and the surrounding communities.
Tickets are $65 and include a multi-course dinner, fund-a-need and live entertainment. This event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Tickets can be purchased at ysb.net/gala.
