The suspect displayed a note and implied that he had a weapon, then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, Gannaway said. The case remains under investigation.
Police believe the suspect to be a white man, 25 years or older, and was wearing a black winter jacket, an Army baseball hat and thick-framed glasses at the time of the robbery.

The bank robbery caused a large police presence downtown on Friday.
According to the audio from dispatch, it appeared a suspect didn’t make it very far. According to the initial call posted by Minnesota Police Clips, a possible suspect in the US Bank robbery was detained in the parking lot of Shorty’s (across the street).
But that person was not arrested, Gannaway said. The person was detained and released.
No injuries were reported.
