The Stillwater Area High School Mock Trial team was honored by Sen. Karin Housley this week with an official Senate Resolution.
Housley presented team members of the first-year Mock Trial team with Senate Resolution 180 after they qualified for the Minnesota State Tournament. The team won their first two rounds at the state competition.
“These students have achieved something very impressive with their performance during Mock Trial competitions,” Housley said. “Their win demonstrates that with focus, hard work and a lot of will, you can achieve your goals. They’ve represented our community very well — we are all proud of the achievements of these Stillwater students.”
Team members Amy Crea and Alex Eitman were stand-outs in the competition, winning the All State Witness Award and All State Attorney Award, respectively.
The team composed of Crea and Eitzman along with Holly Fena, Rachel Hartwig, Carly Johnson, Nick Sabin, Alex Screaton, and Mitchell Sell was coached by Eckberg Lammers attorneys Tom Weidner, Kevin Sandstrom, Mike McCain, Rebecca Christensen, Jeff Kemp, and Beth Kelly, and Amanda Prutzman.
