One sign of spring in Stillwater is the opening of Nelson’s Ice Cream.
Well, here goes … Nelson’s Ice Cream announced that it plans to open for the season on Friday, April 3.
Nelson’s has gotten a facelift this winter. Construction crews have been repairing the roof and addressing structural issues after last year’s heavy snow damaged the roof of the building.
Nelson’s has also gotten new windows and the inside has been freshened up a bit.
Nelson’s has been in business since 1923. Stillwater’s historical gem offers 48 ice cream flavors served in mammoth portions.
Nelson’s spring hours are Monday-Friday from 3-9 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., and Sundays noon to 9 p.m.
