Downtown Stillwater’s newest restaurant and bar, Lion’s Main, will open the week of April 13 in the Grand Garage.
The restaurant is locally owned and operated by Dave and Kris Najarian (co-owners of Nelson’s Ice Cream). Their oldest son, Daved Najarian, is the general manager.
Lion’s Main will offer casual cuisine along with creatively-crafted cocktails and local brews.
“We wanted to create a place where people could go and be as relaxed and comfortable as they would be in their best friend’s living room,” Dave Najarian said.
In addition to remodeling the space to create a “casual, homey environment,” Dave Najarian said Najarian family travels have also played a role in the food and drink offerings.
Lion’s Main will be offering creative street food selections including Gyro sandwiches, Puerto Rican relleno fritters, Argentinean beef tips and Venezuelan pork arepas, alongside burgers, tuna tartar and salads.
“We really wanted to bring elegance and complexity to casual cuisine,” Head Chef James Eaves said. See the menu here.
“The artisan offerings include our coupe-glassed, aromatic and floral ‘Stay Awhile’ and our bold, mallet-crushed ice julep variation ‘Peachy Southerner,” Clark said. Lion’s Main will also offer wine, local craft brews on draft and bottled beers.
The renovated space will have a lounge area with couches for informal drinks and appetizers; a game room with shuffleboard, a bar area, a main dining area and an outdoor patio.
“One of our primary goals at Lion’s Main, is to offer an approachable and welcoming environment through everything that we do,” Daved Najarian said. “The lounge will provide a new-meets-vintage feeling, with comfortable leather couches and the ambient glow of the fireplace. The concept seeks to highlight the historic beauty of the building and surrounding areas, while exciting patrons about the continued evolution of downtown Stillwater.”
For the late-night dining crown, Lion’s Main will serve a limited appetizer and dessert menu until close. Lion’s Main will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
