The Stillwater Public Library’s outdoor terrace will be closed for the next two weeks to install a shade structure.
The pergola is being reinforced with steel and cables strung from the building to the pergola to support shade fabric, library director Lynne Bertalmio said.
“Johnson Terrace provides one of the best views of Stillwater and is a great place for reading, library programs and weddings, but the one thing that has been missing since it opened in 2006 is shade,” she said.
As a result of a gift from generous donors, the Stillwater Public Library Foundation is funding the addition of shade to make the terrace more comfortable in the summer months.
