Two local chefs will battle it out during the Stillwater Log Jam Chef’s Competition on Saturday.
Reigning champ Chef Aaron Cave of Smalley’s Caribbean Barbeque and Pirate Bar will battle head-to-head with Chef Nate Peterson of Phil’s Tara Hideaway Saturday in front of a live audience at Lowell Park.
The chefs will begin the competition at the Stillwater Minnesota Farmers Market at 9 a.m., where they will spend $50 on local produce. The chefs then head downtown to clean the produce, and set up to cook in front of a live audience.
The competition will start around 12:30 p.m. The competition will be judged by three James Beard Award winners who will watch, taste and ultimately crown the 2015 Chef’s Competition Champion.
Seating will be available in the beer garden, or you can bring lawn chairs or blankets and set up shop to watch the cooking competition.
