Stillwater Community Theatre will be casting community members for the summer theater production of “Peter Pan.”
Directors are looking to cast third-graders to adult in roles including the Darling family, Peter Pan, Captain Hook and many more favorites. Peter Pan is a musical based on the play by Sir. J.M. Barrie.
Auditions are open to the public and will be held April 14 – 16 from 4-9 p.m. in the auditorium at Stillwater Area High School. Interested individuals can sign up for audition times by emailing Haeri Tollefson, Director, at tollefsonha@stillwaterschools.
The show performances are July 10, 11, 12 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at Stillwater Area High School Auditorium.
Auditions are private and simple, Tollefson said. Prepare one minute of any song. It could be from any Broadway show or a pop, folk, or county song if you prefer. Readings for “Peter Pan” are unprepared or “cold” readings. You may arrive early to your audition to look over one of the readings. One of the Directors will read opposite you in your audition.
“The important thing is to ‘perform’ the song,” Tollefson said. “You don’t need to choreograph the song, but you do need to sell it, believe it and put some personality in it.”
