What a weekend for Stillwater Area Baseball! The 15AAA, 13AA Black and 13AAA teams all won their tournament championships. The 10A team took second, and 13AA Red and 11AA placed third.

Way to go Stillwater Area Baseball!

Here’s our weekly award winners for the week of June 11.

Brian Delisi is the Umpire of the Week.

The Dave’s Sport Shop Hitter of the Week is Theo Kunze. Theo went 3-4 with 5 RBI’s and a walk-off game-winning hit on Monday night.

Jen Turnquist and Rob Babcock are the Stillwater Current Volunteers of the Week. Jen stepped up and helped with all four concessions sites Saturday, well past the shift she signed up for, helping the day go as smooth as possible. Rob is a brand new parent to SABA, assistant coach of the 9AA team. He volunteered on Saturday and nearly all day Sunday to get the fields playable after the severe weather in the morning.

Rob Wallace, Jeff Mosley, Greg Mazanec and Brent Voight were nominated for this week’s Posch Builders Coach of the Week award. They showed patience and persistence in working with the 13AAA team to come back in both Sunday games—one a 14-1 deficit—to win the Mahtomedi Classic.

Brett Hoge is the Pitcher of the Week after combining with a teammate to face only two batters more than the minimum in a tight game last week for the 10AA team.

Blake Lund is the Stillwater Motors Player of the Week. Blake was 4-9 for the 14/15A team with 7 stolen bases. He also pitched a 5-inning shutout, surrendering 2 hits while striking out 10.

Alex Boston is the Bayport Printing House Sportsmanship Star of the Week. Alex comes ready to play his best every game—currently riding an 8-game hitting streak for the 11AA team.

Thank you to the coaches and parents who continue to nominate players throughout the week at Keep them coming!
