Stillwater Baseball Stars of the Week Awards: Week of July 16

Stars of the Week for July 16:

The Dave’s Sport Shop Hitter of the Week is Isaac Schlichting. Isaac hit a clutch lead-off triple in the bottom of the last inning of a tied game and eventually scored the winning run walk-off style.

Sam Olson and Andy Wiederholt are the Stillwater Motors Players of the Week. The 12A players played with the 13A team who needed a couple players and combined for 3 hits, 7 RBI’s and a fantastic catch in CF.

Reece Bastyr is the Bayport Printing House Sportsmanship Star of the Week. Reece has been the most consistent player on the 11AA Ponies. He’s a team leader, players look up to him, extremely coachable and has a positive attitude.

John Green is the Stillwater Current Volunteer of the Week. John volunteers to do a very important and thankless job: coordinating fields for Stillwater Area Baseball. It’s a role that takes a lot of hours, patience and a calm attitude.

The 13AA Black team is our Team of the Week after finishing 2nd at the Gopher State tournament, going 5-0 in the tournament including a big win over the #1 seed before falling in the championship game.

Brice Hafemeyer is the Umpire of the Week.

Mike Murphy of the 13AA Black team is this week’s Posch Builders Coach of the Week. Mike took a group of players—few of whom had played together before—got them to gel, and finished 1st, 4th and 2nd in three tournaments this year.

“The players have to make the plays, but the coach has to make them a team,” said his nominator.

Thank you to the coaches and parents who continue to nominate players throughout the week at Keep them coming!

We encourage everyone to support these sponsors out of appreciation for their commitment to the community.
