Washington County is hosting an open house on Wednesday, May 28, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church to gather feedback on various design options that have been sketched out for improvements on County Road 5 from Croixwood Boulevard to Owens Street and from Linden Street to Highway 96 in Stillwater.
The open house, from 5-7 p.m., is a venue to review and comment on potential options for improvements, including curb changes, new sidewalks, medians and more. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is located at 1616 W. Olive St.
According to a Washington County news release:
County Road 5 is an important north-south link in the City of Stillwater. However, it lacks adequate pedestrian and bicycle accommodations and connections to other facilities, such as the new Browns Creek Trail. The current study is looking at ways to improve facilities and connections for pedestrian and bicyclists, as well as improving safety and mobility for motorists on this 2.5-mile corridor.
The study focuses on four different segments of the corridor:
- Segment 1: Croixwood Boulevard to Pine Tree Trail;
- Segment 2: Pine Tree Trail to Owens Street;
- Segment 3: Linden Street to St. Croix Avenue;
- Segment 4: St. Croix Avenue to Trunk Highway 96.
