Students, staff and the Oak-Land Junior High School community will take part in the 3rd Annual Give to the Max online giving event for schools/nonprofits, Thursday, November 13.
Give to the Max, known as the annual “Great Minnesota Give Together”, is an online fundraising initiative that takes place Thursday, November 13, from 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., through GiveMN.org. Throughout the day, the school is eligible to win hourly “golden tickets”, $2,000 donations from GiveMN and the Bush Foundation, in random, online drawings. There is an opportunity for one school involved in Give to the Max efforts to win a “Super Golden Ticket” worth $20,000 at the end of the giving period.
Give to the Max donations from families and community organizations will be used to support OLJH Principal Andrew Fields “Wish List” that includes technology charging stations; grade level presentations on social media, anti-bullying and making good choices; hydration stations; specialized supplies for science, art, and math, among other needs. Past donations have supported sede funding for a state-of-the-art fitness facility, upgrades to the school auditorium, technology upgrades and new library resources.
