Mounds View Clinched the Suburban East Conference title—and likely the top seed in the playoffs— Wednesday night beating Stillwater 34-20 at Pony Stadium.
The Ponies end the regular season with a 6-2 record.
The Suburban East Conference coaches met at Stillwater Area High School Thursday morning to determine the Class 6A Section 4 playoff seedings.
Mounds View (7-1), who beat East Ridge last week, is the No. 1 seed. East Ridge (7-1) is the No. 2 seed, followed by Cretin-Derham Hall (6-2) and Stillwater (6-2).
The top four seeds will host first-round playoff games on Friday, Oct. 24.
The lower four seeds are No. 5 Roseville (3-5), No. 6 White Bear Lake (3-5), Roseville (3-5), No. 7 Woodbury (2-6) and No. 8 Forest Lake (0-8).
The following Friday, Oct. 31, the first-round winners of Section 4 will crossover to play the winners of Section 5.
The highest seed from each section plays the lowest remaining seed from the section with which they’re paired. The high seed is the home team.
Schools in Section 5 include: Maple Grove (7-1), Totino-Grace (7-1), Centennial (6-2), Osseo (5-3), Champlin Park (5-3), Blaine (4-4), Anoka (2-6) and Coon Rapids (1-7).
Here’s a quick game recap:
