Man Dies After Jumping from St. Croix Crossing

A man died Monday morning after jumping from the St. Croix Crossing.

A man crawled over the railing on the north side of the new bridge and jumped, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He was found dead on the ice below.

The incident was reported by a motorist who was passing by at about 8:45 a.m. The incident happened on the Minnesota side of the bridge.

First responders from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office; Stillwater police and fire department, the Oak Park Heights Police Department; the Bayport police and fire departments; and the Town of St. Joseph, responded to the call.
