Volunteer schedules and sign up forms for Lumberjack Days will be available from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.
During Townie Tuesday events, Lift Bridge donates a portion of beer sales to the featured nonprofit group. Proceeds of Tuesday’s Lumberjack Days fundraiser will be directed to help promote the festival.
In addition to beverages, pizza by the slice will be available.
Lumberjack Days: July 15-17
The Lumberjack Days kickoff will happen Thursday, July 14 with the ice cream social and talent show at the Washington County Historic Courthouse, with the reading of the first clue for the medallion hunt.
The Downhill Derby will happen Friday afternoon, along with a beer garden, Jaimie Fischer’s Lumberjack exhibitions, water slides, food and games, and music all weekend long.
On Saturday, The Locals will bring back the Kids Parade. There will also be a fishing tournament, old-time base ball exhibitions, BINGO in the Park, Lumberjack exhibitions and more.
The Locals are planning a 5K and 10K road race on Sunday, and have a parade that will follow the same route as last year, turning on Olive instead of Myrtle.
The parade will be 1.3 miles long, and have about 90 floats, McQuay said. The Locals are looking for marching bands for this year’s parade.
A full schedule of this year’s Lumberjack Days events will be announced in June.
The Locals are also looking at utilizing Washington Square for entertainment during the parade.
