Join us for Trail Races in Lake Elmo Park Reserve

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 11 for the first annual Doug Allen Memorial Scholarship Trail Races at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve (1515 Keats Avenue North, Lake Elmo, MN), in honor and celebration of former Lakeview Hospitalist Doug Allen, MD. The trail races include a 5 and 10K Night Owl walk/run and a 6-Hour walk/run shuffle for a recreational walk in the woods or challenge your-self for distance. Dr. Douglas Allen served as a hospitalist at Lakeview Hospital and had been with Stillwater Medical Group for over 6 years. He was a dedicated family man and respected colleague and physician. Dr. Allen passed away in August 2013.

Outside of his family and his practice of medicine, Doug focused on the sport of ultra marathon running. Running was a lifestyle for Doug. To honor Doug’s passions, the Allen family has created The Doug Allen Memorial Trail Races to fund a scholarship for medical students, in his name, through the Lakeview Foundation.

Among the sponsors include: Lakeview Hospital and Stillwater Medical Group, HealthPartners, OSI, St Croix Ortho, Dr. Ted and Noelle Haland and PowerUp. PowerUp welcomes families to participate in the races, and will provide prizes to all children who participate.
