The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce is organizing a new community event called the Community Showcase brought to the public by Marquee Sponsor, Axdahl’s Garden Farm & Greenhouse, and Stage Sponsor, Action Rental.

The event will take place Sunday, April 10 at Stillwater Area High School from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., and is designed to connect local businesses with local residents.

The Community Showcase will be free to the public, and includes live entertainment throughout the day, a kid’s activity area, and the sale of food from local restaurants.

The Chamber has over 110 businesses and organizations exhibiting and intends to make this an annual event.

“We decided to broaden our well established Home & Garden Show so that any and all area businesses and organizations would be eager to participate. Part of the work of the Chamber is to remind residents to keep it local and that is the theme of this new event. We are very pleased with the response we have gotten with over 100 area businesses participating” stated Kevin Sandstrom, Chamber Board Chair, and Community Showcase Event Committee Chair.

Entertainment includes dance performances from Curio Dance, ballet performances from St. Croix Ballet, cheer squad from St Croix Valley Athletic Association, instrumental performances from Hovland Conservatory, an acoustic guitar performance, martial arts demonstrations from The Edge Martial Arts, and dance from Inspiration Performing Arts Company.

Kid’s Activities include a giant chess set from Mathnasium, face painting from Key Club International volunteers, crazy hair from Capture Salon, and a fun art activity from Artful Indulgence.

Local restaurants participating include Acapulco, Famous Dave’s, and Sweet Taste of Italy.

Showcase Committee members include Kevin Sandstrom of Eckberg Lammers Law Firm, Sachin Gore of Mathnasium; Liz Moscatelli of the Stillwater Gazette; Debbie Suennen Rickard of the Greater Stillwater Chamber; Heather Peterson of BreadArt; Steve Weber of Artful Indulgence; Troy Miller of Minuteman Press; Doug Lattin of Omega Event Services and Erica Oesterreich of the Greater Stillwater Chamber.
