Gertens Buys Linder’s Greenhouse Growing Range in Lake Elmo

Gertens is coming to Lake Elmo.

Gertens completed the purchase of the Linder’s Greenhouse growing range in Lake Elmo on Monday, according to a post on gertens.com.

The growing range consists of 52 acres of land, with an additional 12 acres of heated growing greenhouse, 4 utility buildings and a few acres of perennial/nursery growing fields. The deal did not include Linder’s former St. Paul Larpenteur Avenue Garden Center or any of the Linder’s garden mart locations.

“As we identify opportunities in the retail, commercial, wholesale plant and lawn & garden markets, we will pursue those opportunities that best fit our long term strategies and goals,” a statement on Gertens website reads. “We are excited about the prospects of growing our business to ensure that we can fulfill the needs of our customers, provide long term opportunities for our staff and continue to build a solid foundation for our future.”

Linder’s announced its closing last fall, due to a weak economy, competition from big box stores and the weather. The Lake Elmo growing range is located at 9075 15th St. N.
