Football: Stillwater Takes On Totino-Grace for Trip to State Tournament

The Stillwater football team looked impressive last week in the first round of the section 4AAAAAA playoffs, pounding Roseville 53-20 at Pony Stadium.

Stillwater (7-2) heads to Fridley Friday night to take on No. 2 seeded Totino-Grace (8-1) in a crossover game. Kickoff is 7 p.m. The winner advances to the state tournament.

The Ponies defense held Roseville to 181 total yards. Big defensive plays started and ended the game with linebacker Zach Knox lowering a big blow to a Raider’s receiver that forced a fumble Tanner Lau picked up and took in for a touchdown. The game ended with a safety.

Running back Zach Knox rushed for 106 yards and 4 touchdowns while running back Nick Wanovich ran for an 86 yard touchdown and tight end Matt Anderson had a receiving touchdown.
