Construction on the Highway 36 and Hilton Trail project in Pine Springs will resume on Tuesday, March 25.
As a result, motorists should be aware of a ramp closure and detour on southbound Hilton Trail as the ramp to westbound Highway 36 closes at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 25.
MnDOT is closing the ramp to allow crews complete work on the new interchange.
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour of 60th Street North/Frontage Road, DeMontreville Trail, back to westbound Highway 36.
The ramp is expected to re-open by Tuesday, April 29, weather permitting.
Also, at 9 a.m. March 25, westbound Highway 36 between Interstate 694 and DeMontreville Trail will be reduced to a single lane as crews move equipment into place and set up a safe work zone.
All lanes will re-open by 3 p.m. that day.
When completed in summer 2014, the $13.8 million Highway 36/Hilton Trail interchange project will have “improved safety and traffic flow on Highway 36, Hilton Trail, Highlands Trail and DeMontreville Trail.”
