Community Thread Seeks Nominations for 2017 Community Involvement Awards

Community Thread and the Washington County Board of Commissioners are now accepting nominations for the 2017 Community Involvement Awards.

The Community Involvement Awards shine a spotlight on volunteerism and honor the great work of volunteers in the community.

“The St. Croix Valley is full of dedicated and passionate volunteers. Thanks to the enthusiastic service of individuals, families, groups, and employers, our community remains strong, rich and vibrant,” Sally Anderson, Executive Director at Community Thread said in a news release. “The Community Involvement Awards aim to give these volunteers the recognition they deserve.”

The Awards recognize volunteers in six categories:

  • Youth
  • Group/Family
  • Exemplary Employer
  • Outstanding
  • Lifetime
  • Legacy.

Nominees may be residents or organizations in Washington County who meet the criteria for each award.

Nominations are due by Friday, March 10.

This year marks the 42nd year of recognizing volunteers for their commitment through the Community Involvement Awards. The Awards were developed in 1975 to recognize volunteers in Washington County for their outstanding volunteer service.
