‘Clouds’ Over SXSW: A Firm Handshake to Play Cause Rocker Party in Austin, Texas

A Firm Handshake has some exciting things happening this spring.

This Friday, Zach Sobiech’s bandmates Sammy Brown and Reed Redmond will play the Cause Rockers Party at SXSW Music and Film Festival in Austin, Texas—sharing the stage with the likes of fellow Minnesotans Actual Wolf, War Poets and Nicholas David and The Feeling.

If you’re going down to SXSW this weekend, A Firm Handshake plays from 3:30 – 4 p.m. Friday, March 14 at Liberty Bar East.

Before Brown and Redmond take the stage, there will be a panel discussion on cause-driven music releases with Children’s Cancer Research Fund with Laura Sobiech others behind Zach’s song, “Clouds.”

Rock the Cause this week announced a May 6 release of A Firm Handshake’s “Fix Me Up: Deluxe Edition” set that includes videos, a new acoustic version of “Clouds,” Sammy Brown’s song “Going to Confession,” and more.

Pre-orders are being taken on Amazon.com for $12.54. Proceeds will be donated to the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund through the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

According to the Pioneer Press, that fund is expected to top $1 million before the deluxe edition is released.

Laura Sobiech’s new book “Fly a Little Higher” will be released on May 10.
