The 13th annual Stillwater Veterans Memorial Benefit Cruise on the St. Croix River is scheduled for Monday Aug. 17 at St Croix Boat & Packet in Downtown Stillwater.
The cruise is the major fundraiser of the year for the Stillwater Veterans Memorial. The funds are used to maintain the Stillwater Veterans Memorial site on the corner of 3rd Street and Pine Street in Stillwater.
The cruise is open to all, veterans and non- veterans alike. Boarding will begin at 5:30 p.m. The cruise will happen from 6-8:30 p.m.
This year’s special guest of honor will be Richard Thill. Thill, a Saint Paul native, is a Pearl Harbor survivor who served on board the USS Ward, which fired the first American shots of World War II.
This year, all World War II veterans, and one guest, will receive free tickets.
This year’s cruise will also include a St. Croix River Crossing update by MnDOT Construction Manager Terry Zoller, as well as answer questions about the project.
Tickets are $30, and includes the cruise and dinner. Tickets may be ordered online at stillwaterveteransmemorial.org or by calling 651-344-6245. Will call orders will be taken until Friday, Aug. 14.
