With Summer Tuesdays in the rearview mirror, Lift Bridge Brewing Company’s series of “Townie Tuesday” fundraisers continues this week benefitting the restoration efforts of the Boutwell House.

“Townie Tuesdays is from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday at the brewery on Tower Drive.

William T. Boutwell’s home is owned by the Washington County Historical Society.

The Washington County Historical Society purchased the home for $600,000. The historical society still need to raise funds for renovations.

The house, which dates to 1870, was nearly demolished before Nicole Curtis, of HGTV’s “Rehab Addicts,” stepped in front of the back hoe and paid off the demolition crew to stop. After that, negotiations between the owners and Curtis stalled and the WCHS has come in to purchase the site to make sure the home is preserved.
