5 Candidates Apply for Ward 2 Representative on the Stillwater City Council

Five applicants have applied for the open seat in Ward 2 on the Stillwater City Council.

The city of Stillwater accepted applications until noon on Dec. 29.

The applicants to complete Mayor-elect Ted Kozlowski as representative of Ward 2 on the council are:

  • Jerry Clark
  • Tom Corbett
  • Sean Hade
  • Eric Hansen
  • Dave Junker.

The newly sworn in council will decide on a time to conduct interviews of the five candidates and talk about the process moving forward during the Jan. 6 City Council meeting, Stillwater Mayor Mike Polehna said. After interviewing the candidates, the council will make an appointment.

This is the second time in 10 years the council has appointed a representative. The last time that happened was in 2006, when Ken Harycki was elected mayor and Adam Nyberg was appointed to the council.

The appointed Ward 2 representative will serve the final two years of Kozlowski’s term as a council member.
