Stillwater is gearing up for a Fourth of July celebration with live music, Civil War era cannons and a big fireworks display.
Battery I of the 1st US Artillery will once again set up muzzle-loading cannons on Mulberry Point. They will host Q&As and have public demonstrations. The cannons will fire as 1812 Overture plays during the fireworks display.
UPDATED: Live music will happen in Lowell Park before the fireworks display. Jillian Rae is the opening act starting at 6:15 p.m. The headliner, Jorgensen-Tagg, will begin their set at 8:15 p.m.
Stillwater will have a reserved seating area for Veterans in the Downtown Pedestrian Plaza.
Fireworks generally start about 10 p.m.
Tickets for the Stillwater Public Library Foundation’s Light a Spark Fourth of July fundraiser are available. Tickets to take in the fireworks from the library’s rooftop terrace with entertainment, light apps and a cash bar are $50 for adults and $25 for kids 6 and older. Children 5 and under are free.
The city of Stillwater will spend about $59,000 (including donations) for the annual Fourth of July celebration. Music for the fireworks show will be simulcast on KLBB Radio, AM 1220.
