Update: One Man Dead, Another Critically-Injured After Domestic Disturbance

One man has died, and another remains in critical condition following a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Mulberry Street Friday afternoon.

William Mark Scheel, 59, of Stillwater was stabbed and died from his injuries, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. His death was determined to be homicide by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.

His son, William James Scheel, 30, also sustained serious injuries during the incident and currently is in critical but stable condition at Regions Hospital.

When Stillwater police arrived at the scene, officers found two men were critically injured. The men were transported to Regions Hospital by Lakeview EMS to be treated for stab wounds.

The incident remains under investigation by the Stillwater Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

Assisting Stillwater police in the response to this incident were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Stillwater Fire Department and Lakeview EMS.  The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation.
